First let me say how I love the cover. The cover is from one of my favorite scene on the book so of course I like it.... This is the first time the heroine bought new fashionable clothes and she certainly awe the hero.... Oh How I love the hero’s portrayal on this cover.... Look at his face.. Hahaha And the heroine had that mischievous look isn’tshe? kekeke
Because I've just borrow this book online... I am convince that I should write my every thought about this book so that I won't forgot it's story and since I doubt that I would be able to borrow it again.... It's hard to wait in line just to read a book of Barbara Cartland...
Story: So as I said the beginning is super annoying because the story begun with hero being with his mistress.. A marchioness... Well the queen discovered that they had an affair so it scared both the bitch and the hero for it will cost them scandal certainly.... Then the queen suggested that the hero should get married and the marchioness should be the one to choose who.... Another thing because this woman is so ambitious she also use the opportunity to gain herself a position as a lady in bedchamber....part of the reason that it’s an honor is that she also want to spite the other noble woman who wants the same position.. So she urge the hero to sacrifice his freedom for HER! Seriously for a woman like her? A time in bed with a common artistrocratic woman in echange of ones freedom? Pathetic isn’t it? Yes indeed, the hero is pathetically so in love (He thought he is) so he decided on marrying a woman the marchioness had choosen....
And the lucky woman was Felicity Wyndham... She’s the heroine’s older sister... Unfortunately for Felicity marrying the duke is almost like a nightmare because she’s in love with another man.... Their childhood friend.... So her boyish younger sister rescued her from the fate and came to the duke and asked him to take her as a wife instead of her sister and told him the reason why.. And also she has told him that she won’t get in his way.... She would give him an heir, and lived quitely in the country without her interrupting with his love affair.... How considerate well if it’s for her sister she would sacrifice herself and she isn’t really expecting for love in her marriage with the duke... And maybe that’s the reason why I lovve her sooo much.... She isn’t selfish... Isn’t vain... And doesn’t whine for what she doesn’t have and won’t have....
My blood is boiling so much for the duke even until almost the end of the book oh how I wish that the heroine met the journalist first I think he would appreciate the heroine more than the hero.... Maybe because I just really really hate the hero that’s why I was rooting for another character... And it irks me that there’s not only one bitch in ths book but two... TWO!!! What the! You can’t imagine my smile when I saw him so jealous over the journalist.. Ha! He deserved the torment of jealousy ohhhh I love that part sooooo much..... I wanted to torment him more and moreee until he bellows ENOUGH and the profess his love for the heroine!!! Well it didn’t happen but it’s okay the ending is still sweet anyway so I don’t mind that he didn’t have that scene like an overly dramtic mad lovermad lover hahahah....
